Nigeria Enhances Security for Citizens Abroad, Says Minister

During an interactive session with the Nigerian community in Angola, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, the Minister of Defence, assured Nigerians living abroad that the Federal Government is intensifying efforts to strengthen security nationwide. This assurance was given on the sidelines of the 21st Extraordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union in Luanda, where the Nigerian delegation was led by Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Musa commended the Nigerian community for their relations with the diplomatic mission and reiterated the government's commitment to tackling security challenges. He noted that the administration is enhancing the operational effectiveness of the Armed Forces and other security agencies.

Musa also mentioned that some security issues are linked to instability in the Sahel region, prompting the implementation of comprehensive border management measures. The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, CEO of NiDCOM, also spoke, emphasizing improvements in identity management and the commission's support for Nigerians abroad.
