Nigeria's Defence Minister Assures Diaspora on Security

During an interactive engagement with the Nigerian community in Angola, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, the Honourable Minister of Defence, assured Nigerians in the diaspora of the Federal Government's commitment to strengthening national security. This event occurred on the sidelines of the 21st Extraordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union in Luanda, Angola.

The Nigerian delegation was led by Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. General Musa emphasized President Tinubu’s dedication to neutralizing security threats and highlighted efforts to enhance the operational capabilities of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

He acknowledged challenges stemming from regional instability in the Sahel and mentioned comprehensive border management measures being implemented. The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, discussed enhanced data protection and identity management structures, while Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of NiDCOM, assured support for the diaspora community.

The engagement aimed to address concerns and promote national prosperity.
