Federal Government Trains 700 Oyo Youths in Vocational Skills

The Federal Government has initiated the National Poverty Reduction with Growth Strategy (NPRGS), aiming to lift five million Nigerians out of poverty over the next four years. In Oyo, 700 youths were trained from September 28 to October 9, 2026, in various vocational skills, including artificial intelligence (AI) and graphic design.
The program, implemented by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Technical, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Education (OSSAP-TVEE), culminated in a graduation ceremony at the Kensington Adebutu Hall, University of Ibadan. Dr Abiola Arogundade, the Senior Special Assistant to the President, emphasized the initiative's goal of providing opportunities and skills rather than just direct assistance.
Participants received equipment such as laptops, make-up kits, sewing machines, and digital tablets to support their transition into income-generating activities. Arogundade encouraged graduates to leverage their training to create sustainable livelihoods and to share their knowledge with their communities.
