FG Approves N70 Billion Mini-Grid Project for 18 Institutions in Nigeria

The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved a N70 billion mini-grid power project to provide renewable electricity to 18 institutions across the country. The Board of Trustees member, Engr Nurudeen Adeyemi, announced the allocation during a town hall meeting in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The project aims to address the high cost of electricity in tertiary institutions, reducing operational expenses and enhancing research and learning. Beneficiary institutions include University of Ilorin, University of Jos, and others in states like Benue, Plateau, Nasarawa, and Niger.

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) reaffirmed its commitment to supporting such initiatives to improve educational infrastructure in Nigeria.
