FG To Share N75k Each to 2.2m Nigerian Households, Names Beneficiaries

The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, has announced plans to distribute N75,000 to 2.2 million poor households in the country. The beneficiaries are those enrolled in the government's social register.

The funds will be disbursed in three tranches, with the first round expected to be completed by the end of the month. Minister Farouq emphasized the government's commitment to poverty reduction and highlighted the successful disbursement of a hundred billion naira to support vulnerable Nigerians.

This initiative is part of the administration's efforts to boost economic development and job creation, particularly for small businesses. The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (SMEDAN) has also launched a conditional grant scheme to further support micro-enterprises.
