FG Launches Compensation Scheme for Civil Servants

The Federal Government of Nigeria has unveiled a new compensation scheme aimed at supporting civil servants who suffer injuries, occupational diseases, disabilities, or death while on duty. The announcement was made by Didi Walson Jack, the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, during an event in Abuja.

This initiative is designed to strengthen workplace welfare and protection across the federal civil service. The compensation scheme is fully operational and will provide timely support to affected workers, complementing existing welfare programs such as the group life assurance scheme.

Oluwaseyi Faley, the Managing Director of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), described the scheme as a significant step towards establishing a transparent compensation system for federal workers. Additionally, a newly inaugurated help desk will facilitate information dissemination and support for claims, enhancing service delivery.

This rollout marks a crucial milestone in reinforcing workforce protection and building an efficient, welfare-driven civil service.
