FG Commits to Youth Development at UNN Convocation

During the 55th convocation ceremony of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, President Bola Tinubu expressed the Federal Government's commitment to investing in youth development and expanding economic opportunities. He emphasized the need to prepare Nigerian youths for the responsibilities of building a better society, highlighting their role in achieving national development goals.

Tinubu, represented by Prof. Edoba Omoregie, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin, acknowledged the anxieties of Nigerian youths about their future but assured them of productive engagement initiatives.

He outlined plans to promote a digital economy through tech hubs, digital skills training, and funding for young tech entrepreneurs. Additionally, he mentioned the repackaging of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to focus on skills and entrepreneurship.

Tinubu praised the administration of UNN, led by Prof. Simon Uchenna Ortuanya, for aligning its development with the Federal Government's Renewed Hope Agenda, which includes over 100 strategic projects initiated within the first year of Ortuanya's administration.
