Kogi Governor Ododo Launches Youth Empowerment Program

Usman Ododo, the Governor of Kogi State, called on young people to support President Bola Tinubu's administration during the inauguration of the Kogi Youth Mine Jewelry Craftsmanship Empowerment Program in Abuja. This initiative, part of the federal government's youth-focused reforms, aims to empower youths and sustain economic growth through skill acquisition in the mining and jewelry value chain.

Ododo emphasized the importance of equipping young people with competitive skills to enhance their employability and entrepreneurship potential. He noted that Kogi State is endowed with 32 commercially viable solid mineral resources, which present significant opportunities for job creation and wealth generation.

The program attracted 16,900 applications nationwide, with 13,900 applicants successfully processed, leading to the selection of 20 outstanding candidates for the inaugural batch. Dr.

Olushola Awujoola from Malivelihood stated that the beneficiaries would receive world-class training to meet international standards, preparing them for successful careers in the mining and jewelry industry.
