FG Withdraws Forgery Suit Against Lawyer Ozekhome

The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially withdrawn an alleged forgery suit against senior lawyer Ozekhome, as disclosed in court on Tuesday. The suit, initially filed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) on January 16, 2026, included three counts of forgery against Ozekhome.

On January 26, the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) assured that the case would be prosecuted with the highest standards of efficiency and due process. However, during the proceedings scheduled for Tuesday, Ozekhome's counsel, Oyedepo, moved to withdraw the case, explaining that the Attorney General's office required additional time to review the consolidated issues arising from multiple investigations.

The Federal Capital Territory High Court in Maitama granted the application to strike the case, which involved accusations that Ozekhome presented a falsified Nigerian passport to support claims regarding a property located at 79 Randal Avenue, London, NW2 7SX, reportedly occurring in August 2021.
