FG Withdraws Appeal in Dangote Refinery N100bn Case, Ensuring Fair Competition

The Federal Government of Nigeria has withdrawn its appeal in the N100 billion import license case involving Dangote Petroleum Refinery Petrochemicals FZE. The appeal was challenging Dangote's import license issued by the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC).

The decision to withdraw the appeal came after Dangote Refinery withdrew its original suit in the Federal High Court Abuja. Legal experts suggest that this move ensures fairness in the competition and prevents possible monopolistic practices in the oil and gas sector.

The case originated from a lawsuit filed by Dangote in July 2025 seeking to nullify the import license issued by the oil firm NMDPRA.
