FGCKOSA Opposes Land Concession at Federal Government College Kano

The Federal Government College Kano Old Students Association (FGCKOSA) has condemned the proposed concession of approximately 30 hectares of land within the Federal Government College Kano as part of a public-private partnership (PPP) arrangement. FGCKOSA, represented by its president Shoyinka Shodunk, has urged President Bola Tinubu to immediately cancel the proposal, emphasizing that it threatens the sanctity and integrity of the school, which has been a symbol of educational excellence in Nigeria.

The statement highlights concerns that the initiative represents a shift from educational values to commercial interests, potentially undermining the original purpose for which the land was acquired. FGCKOSA noted that the alumni community has invested billions of naira in developing the college and aims to establish a dedicated foundation to further support its academic programs.

The association plans to raise N5 billion for this initiative, with an official launch scheduled for June 2026.
