FHA Expands Housing Projects Across 28 Nigerian States

The Federal Housing Authority (FHA) is expanding its housing projects across 28 states in Nigeria as part of an initiative to enhance access to affordable housing. Ezekiel Etuk, the Executive Director of Estate Services at FHA, announced that groundbreaking ceremonies have begun in several states, including Akwa Ibom, Abia, Kaduna, and Abuja.

The FHA has already commenced construction activities and has procured contracts for these projects. Notably, the FHA is working on 336 housing units in Bwari, Abuja, with a target completion date set for the end of the year.

The agency aims to improve service delivery and safeguard property records through reforms and digitalization efforts. The project aligns with President Bola Tinubu's agenda to tackle Nigeria's housing deficit, as emphasized by Oba Akintoy Adeoy, who highlighted the potential for economic growth through collaboration between the government and the private sector.

Georg Akum, the Permanent Secretary of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, expressed optimism that the project would help reduce the housing shortfall in the Federal Capital Territory.
