FIFA Proposes $20 Million Funding for Nigeria Football Federation

FIFA announced a proposal on Tuesday that could provide the Nigeria Football Federation with up to $20 million in immediate funding through the new FIFA Fast Forward Programme. This initiative aims to support special projects such as stadiums and national training centres.

Additionally, member associations will receive $20 million each under the regular FIFA Forward programme for the 2027-2030 cycle, increasing to $22 million for 2031-2034 and $24 million for 2035-2038. FIFA President Gianni Infantino described this funding as a means to ensure that the commercial growth of football benefits associations at all levels.

However, the funding comes with conditions, including FIFA retaining control over a new subsidiary called FIFA Forward Enterprise, which will oversee commercial and event operations. FIFA also plans to sell a minority stake in its commercial operations to raise up to $4.2 billion.

This proposal requires approval from a majority of FIFA's member associations and the FIFA Council.
