Nigeria's FIFA Ranking Stays at 26th, Senegal Drops

In the latest FIFA rankings released on Wednesday, Nigeria's Super Eagles maintain their position at 26th in the world, following their bronze medal achievement at the AFCON 2025 tournament. During this ranking period, Nigeria played two matches, including a friendly tournament in Turkey, where they defeated Iran, drew 2-2 with Jordan, and won the tournament, remaining unbeaten.

The top seven African nations in the rankings remain unchanged, with Morocco recognized as the leading African team at 8th in the world. Senegal, however, has dropped two spots to 14th globally after losing their AFCON 2025 title.

Nigeria ranks third among African nations, following Algeria and Egypt, who complete the top five. The next FIFA rankings will be announced on June 10, ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
