Finance Minister Urges Unified Action for School Security

Finance Minister Oyedele, speaking in Abuja, called for a collective approach to improve security in educational institutions, stressing that the safety of schools is essential for a conducive learning environment. He pointed out that the responsibility for school security involves state governments, federal ministries, security agencies, and other stakeholders.

Oyedele stated that while funding alone cannot eliminate insecurity, timely investments in security measures can significantly reduce risks and prevent incidents. He urged the media and the public to support government initiatives against insecurity, cautioning that some citizens may unintentionally amplify criminal activities by questioning government actions related to security interventions.

The Minister reiterated the government's commitment to collaborating with relevant stakeholders to enhance school safety and improve overall national security outcomes.
