Fintiri Imposes Curfew in Adamawa Amid Violence Surge

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has imposed a 24-hour curfew in Lamurd Local Government Area effective immediately due to escalating violence and a breach of peace in the community. This decision, communicated through a press statement by Chief Press Secretary Humeashi Wonosik, marks the fourth curfew imposed in less than six months due to ongoing conflicts in the area.

The governor expressed concern over the situation and directed security agencies to enforce the curfew strictly, warning that anyone found violating it would be arrested and dealt with according to the law. The curfew will remain in effect until further notice.

Reports indicate that two people were killed, with further investigations revealing a total of four deaths associated with the conflict. The Adamawa State Police Command spokesman, Suleiman Nguroj, confirmed the deadly crisis and promised updates on casualty numbers.

The ongoing violence has particularly affected the Bachaman ethnic group, with claims of significant casualties.
