Fire Destroys Hotel and Shops in Ondo Community

Late Friday night, a fire erupted in a community in Ondo, causing widespread panic among residents and traders in the bustling commercial town. Although the cause of the fire has not been established, eyewitnesses noted that the flames spread rapidly, destroying goods and properties worth millions of naira.

When Daily Trust visited the scene, affected traders were seen assessing the damage while sympathizers gathered to offer support to the victims. The scale of destruction was attributed to the presence of highly flammable materials stored in the affected shops.

One business owner, identified as Simpli Star Boi, described the incident as devastating, stating that he lost his means of livelihood. Upon hearing the alarm raised by people, help arrived, but the shop was already engulfed in flames.

Firefighters reportedly responded promptly to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings. Fortunately, no casualties were reported at the time of the report.
