Fire Destroys Two Vehicles at Kwara Motor Park

A fire outbreak occurred early Saturday morning at a motor park in the Odo Okun area of Ilorin, Kwara State, destroying two vehicles. The Kwara State Fire Service received a distress call at 2:48 AM and quickly mobilized to the scene.

Upon arrival, they found two vehicles affected by the blaze, including a Toyota Sienna 18-seater commercial bus with registration numbers JJJ876HJ and KSF223SK. The driver of the affected bus reported that he had returned from a long-distance trip the previous afternoon and was asleep when he noticed the fire.

Efforts by people at the garage to prevent the fire from spreading included moving vehicles away from the burning bus, but unfortunately, the nearby Toyota Sienna also caught fire. The fire crew managed to contain the blaze by 3:03 AM, preventing further damage.

Alabi Muham, the director of the Kwara State Fire Service, advised vehicle owners and transport operators to conduct regular inspections for electrical faults and fuel leaks, especially before long-distance journeys, to avoid similar incidents.
