Fire Guts Motor Park in Kwara, 38 Vehicles Affected

A fire incident occurred at a motor park in Kwara State, affecting 38 vehicles, including two Toyota Sienna vans with registration numbers JJJ876HJ and KSF223SK. The fire began at approximately 2:48 PM, with the vehicles parked nearby.

The drivers had returned from a long-distance trip the previous afternoon and were inside the vehicles when they noticed flames. Efforts were made by people in the garage to move the vehicles away from the scene.

The Kwara State Fire Service, represented by spokesperson Hassan Adekunle, confirmed that firefighters arrived promptly at 3:03 PM and successfully contained the fire, preventing its spread throughout the motor park. No casualties were reported.

Alabi Muham, the director of the fire service, advised vehicle owners and transport operators to regularly inspect their vehicles for fuel leaks and electrical faults, especially before long journeys. He urged transport operators to maintain adequate space for parked vehicles and ensure portable fire extinguishers are available for quick response during emergencies.
