Fire Outbreak Damages Residential Building in Ilorin

On June 7, 2026, at approximately 7:10 AM, a fire outbreak occurred at No 5 Obafemi Aker Street off Basin Road in Ilorin, Kwara State. The incident affected a five-bedroom bungalow, specifically damaging a store room located at the rear of the property.

The Kwara State Fire Service responded promptly to the emergency, with spokesperson Hassan Adekunl confirming that firefighters arrived quickly to battle the blaze, which was significant but contained due to their professional intervention. Preliminary investigations indicated that the fire originated from a generator set that caught fire while operating without the knowledge of the occupants.
