Fire Destroys Emir of Jama’a's Palace in Kaduna

On Friday, a fire outbreak razed part of the Emir of Jama’a's palace located in Kafanchan, the headquarters of Jama’a Local Government Area in Kaduna State. Sources indicated that the fire began while the Emir's family was preparing for the evening Maghrib prayers, triggering panic among residents in the surrounding neighborhood.

Upon visiting the palace on Friday night, it was observed that sections of the building were badly burnt, with several household items reduced to ashes. Eyewitnesses reported that members of the community expressed their solidarity with the Emir and his family.

The Kaduna State Fire Service responded to the distress call but faced challenges as their pumping machines reportedly failed to start upon arrival, hampering early firefighting efforts. Local volunteers joined the effort to salvage property and prevent the fire from spreading further.

Although no casualties were reported, the extent of the damage remains unknown, and authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the cause of the fire.
