Kano Fire Service Rescues Three from Wells in Kano

On Friday, the Kano State Fire Service successfully rescued three individuals, including an 18-month-old child, from wells in Kumbotso and Warawa Local Government Areas. The first incident occurred in the Semegu area near El Sadeeq Bread, where an unidentified 40-year-old man fell into a well.

Upon receiving the report, the fire service mobilized to the scene and found the man unconscious. The Panshekara Police Division is conducting further investigations into this incident.

The second rescue involved Maimuna Shitu, a 32-year-old woman suffering from mental illness, and her son Harisu Muntari, who also fell into a well in Madarin Taba village, Warawa Local Government Area. Fire service personnel arrived and found both victims unconscious.

Muhammad Shitu, Maimuna's father, is involved in the ongoing investigation. Alhaji Sani Ana, the director of the Kano State Fire Service, has urged residents to ensure wells are properly covered to prevent such tragedies and called on parents and guardians to monitor vulnerable individuals, especially children.
