Kano Fire Service Rescues Three from Wells in Kano

On Friday, the Kano State Fire Service conducted rescues in two separate incidents involving individuals who fell into wells in Kumbotso and Warawa local government areas. The first incident occurred around 7:06 AM when a distress call was received regarding a 40-year-old man who had fallen into a well near El Sadeeq Bread in Kumbotso.

The service's emergency response unit mobilized to the scene and found the man unconscious. He was subsequently rescued and handed over to the Panshekara Police Division for further investigation.

The second incident took place at Madarin Taba Village in Warawa, where a 32-year-old woman, Maimuna Shitu, who suffers from mental illness, and her 18-month-old son, Harisu Muntari, fell into a well. Fire service personnel arrived and rescued both victims, who were also found unconscious.

Muhammad Shitu, the woman's father, was informed of the incident. Alhaji Sani Ana, the director of the Kano State Fire Service, urged residents to take safety precautions to prevent such accidents, particularly emphasizing the need to cover wells properly.
