Renaiss Africa Hails NUPRC as Gas Output Reaches Record

Renaiss Africa Energi Compani Nigeria Ltd has praised the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) for its recent regulatory reforms, which have contributed to a record gas output of 2.2 billion cubic feet. This milestone, achieved on March 30, 2026, underscores a broader recovery in Nigeria's upstream sector, driven by improved regulatory clarity and a more investor-friendly environment.

Toni Attah, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Renaiss, highlighted the NUPRC's role in creating an enabling environment that accelerates operational growth and expansion. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, also from Renaiss, noted the significant rebound in Nigeria's upstream industry, which had previously seen a decline in production.

The company has successfully navigated concerns regarding the divestment of international oil companies, demonstrating that indigenous firms can effectively manage assets. The NUPRC's support is seen as critical in driving growth across the industry, particularly as local firms increasingly take control of previously held multinational assets.
