Renaissance Africa Energi Hits 2.2 Bcf Gas Production Milestone

Renaissance Africa Energi Company Nigeria Ltd has announced a significant achievement in gas production, reaching 2.2 billion cubic feet (bcf). This milestone was made possible due to the regulatory reforms and support from the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).

CEO Toni Attah highlighted the importance of the commission's assistance during a visit to their headquarters in Abuja, coinciding with the commission's one-year anniversary. Attah noted that the company aims to increase its production target to 3 bcf by 2030, emphasizing the need for regulatory support to develop 10 to 15 field development plans (FDP) annually.

Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, the NUPRC Chief Executive, acknowledged the challenges faced by Nigeria's oil sector but expressed confidence in the potential for growth, particularly with the recent divestment trends favoring indigenous companies. Renaissance's recent success in gas production is seen as a testament to the effectiveness of the NUPRC's regulatory framework.
