Kano Pilgrims Arrive in Madina for 2026 Hajj Exercise

The first batch of Kano State pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj exercise arrived safely in Madina, Saudi Arabia, at 7:35 PM Nigerian time on Thursday night. A total of 558 pilgrims were transported on an inaugural flight operated by Max Air, comprising 333 males and 225 females.

The pilgrims were drawn from four local government areas in Kano State, specifically Dala, Gwale, Ungogo, and Fagge. Sulaiman Dederi, a representative from the Kano State Pilgrim Board, expressed gratitude to Allah for the successful journey and commended the efforts of all officials and stakeholders involved in the airlift operation.

The board announced the safe arrival of the first batch and urged the pilgrims to conduct themselves peacefully throughout their stay in Saudi Arabia, advising them to obey the laws and regulations of the Kingdom. Kano State is noted for having one of the highest numbers of pilgrims participating in this year's Hajj exercise.
