Kano State to Start 2026 Hajj Airlift on May 14

The Kano State Pilgrim Welfare Board has announced that it will commence the airlift of pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj on May 14, 2026. This announcement was made by the Board's Director General, Abubakar Matawal, during a closing ceremony for Hajj induction courses held at the School of Arabic Studies in Kano.

The airlift operations will begin with inaugural flights to Saudi Arabia, facilitated by Max Air, which has been designated as the carrier. The Board has completed necessary arrangements in advance to ensure a smooth and successful commencement of the Hajj operations.

Yusuf Lawan, the Chairman of the Board, urged pilgrims to regularly review the Hajj induction materials for their own benefit and to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations set by the Nigerian and Saudi Arabian authorities throughout the pilgrimage. Security agencies and service partners involved in the pilgrimage include immigration, NDLEA, Hajj tribunals, NOA, Max Air, and Hisbah.
