Oluremi Tinubu Empowers 2,000 Women with N100m Grant

On Tuesday, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu announced a N100 million grant aimed at empowering 2,000 women in Benue State, particularly those engaged in petty trading. This initiative is part of the Renew Hope initiative and includes a N50 million grant for 1,000 women in Vandeikya and another N50 million to support 1,000 women in Makurdi.

During the event, she inaugurated a Community Information Technology (ICT) center in Vandeikya, highlighting the significance of ICT services as tools for community empowerment, especially for women. The ICT center is equipped with computers and facilities designed to bridge the digital gap across the country.

Tinubu mentioned that this initiative is part of a broader effort that includes the establishment of four ICT centers in Benue and 15 others across various states, including Abia, Cross River, Delta, Ebonyi, Edo, Jigawa, and the Federal Capital Territory. Governor Hyacinth Alia remarked that the ICT center will promote entrepreneurship and support small-scale enterprises in the state.
