Nigerian Governors Support Tinubu's Economic Reforms

On Tuesday, during a meeting in Kebbi State, first-term governors of Nigeria declared their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's economic reforms, which they described as essential for the nation's recovery. They acknowledged the hardships faced by Nigerians and emphasized that these reforms are crucial for long-term economic stability, improved public finances, increased investment, and enhanced national security.

The governors urged Nigerians to remain united and patient, expressing confidence that the reforms would ultimately benefit the populace. They also called for greater support for vulnerable citizens during this transitional period.

Additionally, the governors condemned issues such as kidnapping, terrorism, banditry, and violent crime, labeling them as major threats to national peace and development. They pledged to collaborate with Nigerian security agencies and traditional rulers to strengthen security measures, protect lives and property, rescue victims, and bring perpetrators to justice.

The communiqué also condemned attacks on Nigerians in South Africa and reaffirmed respect for South Africa's sovereignty.
