FirstBank Appoints Olayinka Ijabiyi as Group Head

FirstBank has officially confirmed the appointment of Olayinka Ijabiyi as the Group Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, effective immediately. This appointment is part of the bank's strategy to continue its growth and transformation across the market.

Ijabiyi has 25 years of experience in marketing and corporate communications, spanning the financial services, telecommunications, media, and international development sectors. He joined FirstBank in 2011 and has served in various capacities, including Group Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications since December 2024.

In his new role, he will be responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing and corporate communication strategies across the bank's operations, including brand reputation management and corporate responsibility initiatives. Ijabiyi has held several leadership positions within the bank's marketing and corporate communications department and has previously worked with notable organizations such as the British Council, Multichoice, MTN, and Etisalat Nigeria.

He holds a Master’s degree in Public and International Affairs from the University of Lagos and a Bachelor’s degree in English Language from the former Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti.
