Florence Ajimobi Becomes Nigeria's Ambassador to Austria

Florence Ajimobi has officially arrived in Vienna to take on her role as the ambassador and permanent representative of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to Austria and international organizations based in Vienna. Her arrival was announced on Facebook, and she was welcomed at the VIP wing of the Vienna International Airport by Muyiwa Onifad, the Chargé d'Affaires at the Permanent Mission, along with other officials and members of the Nigerian community in Austria.

Ajimobi expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the warm reception and emphasized her commitment to strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Nigeria and Austria. Her appointment follows a nomination by President Bola Tinubu, which included 32 ambassadorial nominees, of which 17 are non-career ambassadors and 15 are career ambassadors.

This appointment is part of a broader diplomatic strategy, as six months later, in March 2026, various countries will see the posting of 31 non-career and 34 career ambassadors to the United Nations.
