Flying Eagles Arrive in Ivory Coast for WAFU B Championship

The Flying Eagles, Nigeria's U-20 football team, have arrived in Ivory Coast to participate in the 2026 WAFU B U-20 Championship, where they will defend their title. They landed in Abidjan on Monday and subsequently traveled to Yamoussoukro, where they are staying at the Trio Corridor Hotel.

The team, coached by Aliyu Zubairu, will commence their campaign against Ghana's Black Satellites at the Lycée Scientifique on Monday. This match is a rematch of the 2024 final held in Lomé, where Nigeria triumphed over Ghana with a score of 2-1 to secure the regional title.

Following the match against Ghana, the Flying Eagles will compete against Togo's Sparrow Hawks on Thursday and conclude their Group B fixtures against Burkina Faso's Young Stallions on Sunday, August 2. The Flying Eagles are focused on successfully defending their WAFU B crown while preparing for future continental competitions.
