FMIST and Engineers Without Borders Partner for Innovation

The Federal Ministry of Science and Technology (FMIST) has established a strategic partnership with Engineers Without Borders (EWB) to enhance engineering innovation and sustainable development in Nigeria. This commitment was articulated by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr.

Mukhtar Yawal Muhammad, during a courtesy visit from EWB's Executive Director, Mr. Oladimeji Olutimelin, in Abuja.

Dr. Muhammad emphasized the critical role of engineering in addressing societal challenges and driving national development.

He reiterated the ministry's dedication to fostering collaboration among government institutions, professional bodies, academia, and the private sector to accelerate the adoption of indigenous technologies. The partnership aims to advance engineering education and encourage practical applications of science and technology in secondary and tertiary institutions across the country.

Mr. Olutimelin expressed EWB's readiness to work closely with the ministry to build engineering capacity, which will significantly contribute to Nigeria's development agenda and technological future.
