FUSTECH Pursues Partnership with YABATECH for Education

The Federal University of Science and Technology (FUSTECH) is pursuing a strategic partnership with Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) to enhance science and technology education in Nigeria. Vice Chancellor Prof.

Kazeem Oshikoya disclosed this during a courtesy visit to YABATECH's management team. The partnership aims to leverage YABATECH's extensive experience and infrastructure to support FUSTECH's establishment and operational success.

FUSTECH has received approximately N4 billion from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) for constructing laboratories, ICT facilities, faculty buildings, and a university library, alongside an additional N2 billion for hostel construction. However, delays in land acquisition have necessitated interim arrangements with neighboring institutions.

Dr. Ibraheem Adedotun Abdul, the Rector of YABATECH, welcomed the initiative, emphasizing the importance of collaboration within Nigeria's higher education sector and expressing readiness to explore mutually beneficial areas for partnership.
