Nigerian Government to Enhance Food Security Through Agriculture Integration in Universities

The Nigerian Government, through Agriculture Minister Dr. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, plans to introduce agricultural programs in universities to boost food security and economic development.

This initiative aims to provide practical experience and entrepreneurship opportunities for students in the agriculture sector. The Minister disclosed this during a visit to the Federal University of Education Kontagora in Niger State, where collaborations with higher institutions will focus on smart agriculture and digital technologies.

Additionally, a bill to establish an agro-processing center and support modern farming techniques is being sponsored by the Ministry.
