Nigeria's Food Security Central to Economic Stability

During a stakeholder engagement session held at the Shehu Musa Yar'Adua Centre in Abuja on Friday, Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, highlighted that food security is crucial for Nigeria's economic stability. He stated that the government, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration, is implementing reform programs designed to strengthen agricultural production and food supply chains.

Idris noted that these efforts aim to ensure Nigeria can feed itself, stabilize prices, create jobs, and reduce poverty. He emphasized the administration's commitment to transparency and citizen involvement in governance.

The session also featured Abubakar Kyari, who described the engagement as an important platform for dialogue between the government and citizens, urging stakeholders to support the government's efforts to transform Nigeria's agricultural sector. The minister reiterated the government's dedication to working closely with farmers and the private sector to enhance agricultural productivity and improve food accessibility for Nigerians.
