NSC Forms Diaspora Talent Discovery Committee

The Nigeria Sports Commission (NSC) has constituted a high-level diaspora talent discovery committee to strengthen talent identification and engagement beyond Nigeria's borders. The committee is chaired by Dr.

Tund Adelakun, a UK-based sports administrator with previous experience managing the Nigeria national football team and the Benin national football team. The NSC aims to leverage global expertise to enhance Nigeria's sports development framework.

The committee includes members with strong diaspora networks and proven track records in sports, such as sports journalist Colin Udoh, retired track star Olusoji Fasuba, former athlete Marilyn Okoro, tennis legend Olufunk Oshonaike, and former Super Eagles midfielder Seyi Olofinjana. Other members include former Nigeria international goalkeeper Carl Ikem, taekwondo athlete Ahm Muham, and journalists from Canada and the UK.

The leadership team consists of Abigail Marshal Katung as the first vice chairman, David Omigi as the second vice chairman, and Sarah Ogok as the third vice chairman. The committee is expected to play a pivotal role in identifying and engaging Nigerian athletes in the diaspora, thereby expanding the nation's talent pool and boosting international competitiveness.
