Arumala Prioritizes Team Success Over Golden Boot Race

Joseph Arumala, a winger for Ikorodu City, is currently the top scorer in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) with 12 goals and two assists across 30 league appearances. Despite his scoring prowess, Arumala emphasizes that winning the Golden Boot is not his priority.

Instead, he aims to help his team finish the season strongly. He is aware of the competition from other top scorers, including Godwin Obaj and Emeka Obioma, who have 11 goals each.

Arumala expresses contentment in being recognized among the elite players in the NPFL but insists that he is not under pressure to maintain his scoring form. He joined Ikorodu City in August 2025 and has become the club's record top scorer in a single NPFL season.

His focus remains on enjoying the game and contributing to the team's success, with aspirations for a top-three finish in the league.
