Nigeria Seeks Diaspora Support to Tackle Security Issues

Sola Enikanolaiye, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, made this statement during the Dinner Night of the Nigerian Diaspora Economic Conference in Toronto, Canada. He emphasized that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu views Nigerians abroad as vital human resources rather than mere consular burdens.

Enikanolaiye acknowledged the ongoing security threats in Nigeria and stated that the government is intensifying efforts to address these issues. He mentioned that Nigeria is entering a new phase of strategic engagement with international partners, including the United States, to achieve concrete benefits in security and citizens' welfare.

The minister urged Nigerians to overcome ethnic and religious divisions and work together for national development. He also expressed gratitude to Canada and other partners for their support in fostering productive relationships.
