Dangote Cement Launches Tree Planting Initiative in Obajana

On March 21, 2026, to commemorate the International Day of Forests, Dangote Cement Plc's transport unit in Obajana initiated a large-scale tree planting exercise, distributing seedlings to 13 schools and planting hundreds of trees. Col. Hemant Rana, Division Director of Transport, highlighted the vital role forests play in regulating climate, supporting biodiversity, and providing essential resources for humans.

Mr. Abdullahi Aliyu, the Assistant Division Director of Transport, emphasized the company's commitment to educating and inspiring stakeholders to take practical steps in mitigating deforestation and environmental degradation. Mr. Olumid Balogun, the Sustainable Lead at Dangote Cement Transport Nigeria, urged stakeholders to support and nurture trees to maturity, marking the day as a reaffirmation of the company's commitment to environmental stewardship.

The event aimed to build a culture of environmental responsibility among the younger generation, aligning with the theme of the 2026 International Day of Forests, which focuses on the economic benefits of forests.
