Dangote Cement Launches Tree Planting Initiative in Obajana

On the occasion of the 2026 International Day of Forests, Dangote Cement Transport initiated a large-scale tree planting exercise at Obajana, distributing seedlings to 13 schools. Col.

Hemant Rana, Division Director of Transport, highlighted the vital role forests play in regulating climate, supporting biodiversity, and providing essential resources for humans. Mr.

Abdullahi Aliyu represented the transport division during the event, which aimed to educate and inspire stakeholders to take practical steps in mitigating deforestation and environmental degradation. Mr.

Olumid Balogun emphasized the importance of nurturing trees for improved air quality and preventing soil erosion. He urged stakeholders to support the initiative and ensure the survival of the planted trees.

The event reaffirmed Dangote Cement's commitment to environmental sustainability and community participation, aligning with the theme of the 2026 International Day of Forests, which focuses on the economic role of forests in providing jobs and sustaining livelihoods.
