Former ATBU VC, Prof. Buba Bajoga, Passes Away at 88 After Distinguished Career

Prof. Buba Bajoga, a renowned figure in the Nigerian education sector, passed away at the age of 88.

He had a distinguished academic career, earning a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Ahmadu Bello University in 1968 and a Ph.D. from the State University of New York in 1972. Prof.

Bajoga rose through the ranks at Ahmadu Bello University, becoming a professor of Electrical Engineering in 1984. He played a pivotal role in the evolution of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), where he served two terms as Vice-Chancellor from 1984 to 1994.

Beyond academia, he made significant contributions to Nigeria's telecommunications and engineering sectors, holding key positions in organizations like NITEL, NCC, and COREN. Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State praised Prof.
