Former Cross River Governor Donald Duke Defects to ADC Amid Internal Tensions

Former Cross River Governor Donald Duke has officially resigned from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) by registering as a member in Ward 5, Calabar Municipality. His defection comes amid internal tensions within the ADC in Cross River State, with Dr. Effiong Nyong criticizing the inclusion of certain individuals in the party's policy manifesto committee.

Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC's national public secretary, refuted Nyong's claims, stating that the named individuals had not resigned from the PDP nor made tangible contributions to the ADC. Meanwhile, ADC leaders in Bakassi Local Government Area are urging residents to align with the party ahead of future elections.

They criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for poor governance and called on Nigerians to reclaim the country. The Bakassi chapter reaffirmed its loyalty to the ADC's national leadership and pledged support to the national chairman, Senator David Mark, and national secretary, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

They urged undecided citizens to join the party's transformative agenda.
