Yakasai Defects to ADC, Resigns from APC for New Journey

Yakasai, previously an aide to former Kano State Governor Ganduje, has announced his defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after resigning from the All Progressives Congress (APC). He made this announcement via social media, describing his move as a new journey in his political career following extensive consultations with family, friends, and political associates.

Yakasai confirmed that he has submitted his resignation letter from the APC and completed his registration with the ADC. He expressed encouragement for the party's online registration platform, noting that membership cards can be obtained quickly online.

Yakasai praised divine guidance and expressed hope that the ADC will rise to form a government across Nigeria, bringing progress to the nation. His political journey has been marked by controversy, including a suspension and subsequent dismissal in 2021 for openly criticizing the federal government's handling of insecurity.

After leaving the APC, he joined the People's Redemption Party (PRP) to contest for the governorship of Kano State in the 2023 elections but later rejoined the APC.
