Nakudu Defects to ADC, Joins 2027 Guber Race in Jigawa

Former Jigawa Senator Nakudu has officially defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and declared his intention to contest for the governorship seat in the 2027 general elections. In a statement, Nakudu expressed that his decision to leave the APC was driven by the need to pursue a more inclusive political platform that prioritizes grassroots development and internal democracy.

He conveyed confidence that the ADC offers a viable alternative capable of addressing the challenges facing Jigawa State. Nakudu's announcement follows a trend of recent resignations from the APC, including notable figures such as former chairman of Dutsinma Local Government Bala Ibrahim Chamo and others.

His move is expected to intensify political competition in the lead-up to the 2027 elections, as he believes the ADC provides a credible platform for a better vision for Jigawa State.
