Bolarinwa Declares Governorship Bid for 2027 Elections

Hon. Bashir Bolarinwa, the former chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, has officially declared his intention to run for the governorship in the upcoming 2027 elections.

Bolarinwa made this announcement during a press conference in Ilorin, where he expressed his commitment to public service and the desire to consolidate the progress made in the state. He highlighted his extensive experience in governance, which includes serving as a councillor, two terms as chairman of the Lagos Mainland Local Government Area, and two terms as a member of the House of Representatives.

Additionally, he has held the position of chairman of the National Broadcasting Commission. Bolarinwa's academic background includes a doctorate in international relations, which he believes equips him with the analytical capacity necessary for governance.

His candidacy has received endorsements from various stakeholders in Kwara North, including traditional rulers and religious leaders, as well as notable figures like Hon. Benjamin Yissa Ezekiel, the former Speaker of the Kwara House of Assembly.
