Former Minister Compares Nigeria’s Death Toll To Gaza, Syria

Former Minister, Sunday Chidoka, compared Nigeria's death toll to that of Gaza and Syria during an appearance on Channels Television. He expressed concern over the high number of people killed in Nigeria, despite the country being in a state of peace.

Chidoka criticized the government for not showing leadership in addressing the worsening security crisis, citing recent killings and kidnappings as evidence. He called for the government to stop playing the blame game and instead bring stakeholders together to find solutions.

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, confirmed that at least 34 individuals were killed while attending a prayer at a mosque in Katsina State. The recent increase in killings across Nigeria is believed to be linked to the upcoming 2023 general election, with terrorist activities and banditry on the rise in states like Benue and Plateau.
