Forvis Mazars Hosts CFO Luncheon on AfCFTA in Lagos

On Tuesday, Forvis Mazars and the Franco-Nigerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) convened the sixth annual CFO Luncheon in Lagos, addressing cross-border investment strategies under the theme of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). Laurent Favier, the Consul General of France in Lagos, opened the event, emphasizing the AfCFTA as a gateway for business and regional integration.

Uhabia Ojik, Country Leader for Forvis Mazars Nigeria, discussed the challenges businesses face amid a rapidly evolving economic landscape characterized by currency pressures and regulatory shifts. John Ugochukwu Uwajumogu, Special Adviser to the President on Industry, Trade, and Investment, delivered a keynote address urging corporate leaders to adopt resilient operational models.

The event featured a panel discussion with industry leaders, including Ugodr Obi Chukwu and Olawal Rotimi Opeyemi, focusing on the complexities of cross-border taxation and the evolving role of Chief Financial Officers in corporate expansion.
