Peace Foundation Promotes Interfaith Harmony in Plateau

The Peace Foundation, under the leadership of Dr. Gideon Paramallam, conducted an outreach to the Plateau Muslim community to foster interfaith harmony in the aftermath of a violent attack in Angwa Rukuba, which resulted in 28 fatalities.

On Monday, the delegation visited the Jos Central Mosque, where they met with Muslim leaders, including Chief Imam Imam Ghazali Isma. The discussions focused on strategies to strengthen the peace process in Plateau State, emphasizing the importance of coexistence between Christians and Muslims.

Dr. Paramallam expressed the need for both communities to work together for security and peace, stating that achieving harmony would be challenging but essential.

The Chief Imam acknowledged the foundation's efforts and called for government action to address youth-related challenges and consolidate ongoing peace efforts. The foundation also announced plans to donate relief materials to victims of the crisis, highlighting their commitment to rebuilding trust and preventing further violence in the community.
