David Omenukor Foundation Launches Cancer Awareness Campaign

The David Omenukor Foundation has initiated its 2026 breast and cervical cancer awareness and early detection campaign, offering free mammogram screenings to approximately 22 underserved and vulnerable women in Mesquite, Texas, USA. The event was organized in collaboration with Methodist Health System.

Dr. Keyna Omenukor, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, stated that the initiative aims to enhance healthcare accessibility and affordability for women in underserved communities. The campaign's broader objective is to save lives, raise awareness, and create pathways to preventive healthcare.

Established in 2015 in memory of her late husband, David Omenukor, who succumbed to cancer, Dr. Omenukor's personal experience has fueled her commitment to prevent similar tragedies. She highlighted the challenges women face in seeking timely medical attention due to fear, stigma, and financial constraints.

The Foundation plans to establish a state-of-the-art cancer screening and treatment center in Nigeria, emphasizing the need for collaboration among various stakeholders to achieve this goal.
